It’s never too late to master your iPhone camera! Community members are invited to a hands-on photography workshop designed to build confidence using iPhones to capture meaningful, everyday moments.The workshop will take place on Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and is offered in coordination with the Illuminance photography exhibition. Registration is $5.
Participants will learn practical tips and techniques for improving their mobile photography skills, including how to better capture daily life, preserve memories, and thoughtfully document personal experiences. The session is designed for all skill levels, from beginners to those looking to refine their approach to smartphone photography.
The workshop will be led by Kippra Hopper, a retired Texas Tech University professor of media and communications. Hopper’s academic background includes teaching photography, magazine writing, and journalism.
This engaging and accessible workshop supports the broader mission of Illuminance, encouraging participants to see the world more intentionally through the lens of contemporary photography practices.
Space is limited and advanced registration is required. Deadline to register is July 2, 2026.
