Learn the techniques needed to take incredible pictures of autumn's fungi with professional photographer Adrian Davies.
About this Event

The changing colours of the autumn leaves can produce some of the most striking photographs. But when you look beyond the tree line and focus on the woodland floor, a multitude of colours, shapes and textures appear as hundreds of fungi species come alive. Learn the best ways to capture these autumnal images with Adrian Davies, www.adriandaviesimaging.com. He will guide you throughout the day. With his knowledge and experience you will discover new ways of taking photographs.

Any camera with the ability to change the shutter and aperture settings will be suitable for this course, however a DSLR with interchangeable lenses or Bridge camera will have more potential, particularly for close-up photography. Do bring any lenses that you have with you so that we can discuss their suitability for various subjects.

If you have one, bring along a tripod, as light levels can be quite low, particularly in woodland. Make sure you have a fully charged battery and plenty of space on your memory card to safely store your photographs.

Tutor profile - Adrian Davieshttp://www.adriandaviesimaging.com

Adrian Davies is a wildlife and natural history photographer, author and highly experienced lecturer. He was one of the first people in the UK to use a digital camera over 20 years ago (the mighty Kodak DCS100!) and has been an advocate of digital imaging ever since. He has run workshops for organizations such as Nikon, the British Institute of Professional Photographers, the Royal Photographic Society, the Field Studies Council, the Royal Horticultural Society and numerous others. He co-wrote, with Phil Fennessy, one of the first text books on digital imaging (Electronic Imaging for Photographers, 1994) a title which ran to 4 editions. He has since written several other books and dozens of articles for various magazines.

Adrian has been photographing all aspects of wildlife and natural history for over 30 years, both in the UK and abroad. Increasingly, he is covering environmental issues such as the effects of global warming, and the effect of alien species in the British countryside. He is also currently looking at how plants and other natural history subjects appear in ultraviolet light, and is in the latter stages of writing a book on Digital Ultraviolet and Infrared Photography His pictures have appeared in hundreds of books and magazines.

Many of his images are held by three picture agencies, Nature Picture Library, Visuals Unlimited and Alamy.com, (see Links) but images can also be purchased directly from him as well.
