About this Event
On December 6th, we'll gather at Bildband Berlin for a lovely afternoon of discussion about photobooks.
Event theme:
How does sequencing shape the way we read photographs? This session looks at photo books where the order of images becomes part of the meaning—guiding rhythm, creating tension, or revealing a story in unexpected ways. We’ll explore how artists play with sequence, sometimes following a clear narrative, sometimes subverting it to shift our expectations.
And we’ll consider when sequencing seems to matter less: what happens to a book’s impact when images can be reordered without changing its message?
Please take note of our event rules:
- If you sign up and need to cancel, please do so at least 24 hours in advance.
- Jump in and share your thoughts - this event is all about participation, it's not a lecture. We're here for open discussion so expect to get involved.
- This is a no-promo zone. We want a safe space for artists, creators and photo book lovers to connect, so please refrain from pitching or promoting your own work. Feel free to share personal insights respectfully, but keep the focus on discussion, not self-promotion.
- Bringing a book is encouraged but not required. We will be discussing books and there are books available at Bildband if you would like to use one for our chat. Additionally, feel free to share a book you might have found online if you don't have a physical copy.
