About this Event
On March 15th, we'll gather at Bildband Berlin for a lovely afternoon of discussion about photobooks.
Event theme:
What happens when photography breaks free from reality? This session explores photo books that reject the world as we know it, constructing alternate realities, dreamscapes, and surreal visions. How do photographers use the medium to escape logic, invent new narratives, or blur the line between truth and illusion?
We’ll dive into projects that transport us elsewhere—where time bends, the familiar turns strange, and the impossible becomes tangible. Through these works, we’ll consider how artists harness photography’s power to dream, distort, and create entirely new worlds.

Please take note of our event rules:
- To help reduce last minute cancellations and open up space for those on the waitlist, we are now charging a 5€ ticket fee. If you sign up and need to cancel, please do so at least 24 hours in advance.
- Bringing a book is encouraged but not required. We’ll be discussing books, and there are books available at Bildband if you’d like to use one for our chat. Additionally, feel free to share a book found online if you don’t have a physical copy.
- Jump in and share your thoughts—this event's all about participation, not a lecture. We’re here for open discussion, so expect to get involved!
- It’s also a no-promo zone. We want a safe space for artists, creators, and photo book lovers to connect, so please don’t pitch or promote your own work here. Feel free to share personal insights respectfully, but keep the focus on discussion, not self-promotion.
