Danny Wheeler’s two killer albums on legendary soul, jazz, hip hop and bruk label Tru Thoughts have made him one of the top producers spearheading a bruk renaissance winning new audiences over to that bruk sound with jazz, soul, garage and afro influences all aimed straight to the dancefloor. He brings his live band to Sheffield for the first time featuring – WheelUP aka Danny Wheeler - Tugg the drummer - Victoria Port - Klein Sserwadda

CENGIZ (Co-op Presents / Dance Regular / Selectors Assemble/ Bruk Therapy)

Making his Sheffield debut, Istanbul born and UK based Cengiz grew up on a melting pot of musical styles from East and West, travelled through the Jungle and Garage club scenes before finding his home in the first wave of broken beat clubs and parties. A highly rated producer and DJ, Cengiz is a key figure of the new generation of bruk players working with foundation artists and DJs such as IG Culture and Alex Phountzi on their Worldwide FM show.

BALD ETHOS

Bald Ethos is a young, dedicated collector of music with soul. From intricate Afro-Latin rhythms to broken beat, deep house to jazz dance, movement is the driving force of his selections. Having moved to Manchester, we are hauling him back across the Snake Pass to return to his musical roots in Sheffield!

ROMAN (La Rumba)

La Rumba” – a Latino slang term used to describe where the party’s at – is the name given by Venezuelan-born, UK-raised, Román to his night in Sheffield which has spread its wings to Leeds, Barcelona, Buenos Aires, Madrid, Rio de Janeiro, the French Alps over the years, and most recently to London following a move to the big smoke.

Started in 2017 as an exploration into global dancefloor culture, La Rumba has hosted nearly as many legends in their respective scenes as they have done cutting-edge selectors at the top of their game, from Amadou & Mariam, Seun Kuti, Dele Sosimi, and Mr. Scruff to Channel One, Shanti Celeste, and Coco María.

CHRIS WELCH & LEVI BUSSUE (PHONETICS)

Phonetics have been DJing and promoting events in Sheffield and beyond since the early 00s! From hip hop to bruk, taking in everything from soul to samba - Phonetics has always joined the dots for that all around sound! Having had everyone from Gilles Peterson to Fat Freddy's Drop guest at its original weekly incarnation, the reboot over the past years has featured regular events featuring guests such as Onipa, BCUC, Allysha Joy and IG Culture combined with regular DJ appearances across the city and various festivals.

Renewing and revisiting their 20 year love affair with all things bruk – Phonetics are buzzing about this one building on recent heavyweight appearances from IG Culture, Dance Regular and soul/bruk/jazz artist Allysha Joy (First Word Records)
