About this Event
Phoenix is considering a historic $5 million investment in childcare affordability, one of the first major city-level proposals of its kind, focused on supporting working families and addressing the cost of childcare locally.
On May 19, Phoenix City Council will vote on the final city budget, and we need mothers and caregivers showing up in support.
Phoenix mothers will be testifying and sharing their personal stories about the cost of childcare, waitlists, work decisions, financial stress, and the realities families are facing every day. We want every Phoenix mother sharing her story to feel an army of moms standing behind her. Whether you plan to testify or simply attend in support, your presence matters. When mothers show up together, leaders pay attention.
Show up wearing your Chamber of Mothers shirt, advocacy gear, motherhood apparel, or bring supportive signs to help create a visible show of support for families and affordable childcare.
We are still actively looking for mothers willing to testify, and there are multiple ways to participate:
•Speak in person
•Join virtually
•Submit written testimony
You do not need to be an expert. A short, honest story is enough. Please email [email protected] if you are willing.
You also do not need to be a Phoenix mom to attend and support this effort. We welcome anyone who believes Arizona families deserve more affordable, accessible childcare.

Welcome to the movement that’s mobilizing over 100,000 mothers nationwide to advance maternal rights in America.
Our local chapter meetings bring together passionate advocates who are fighting for paid family leave, affordable childcare, and improved maternal health outcomes—the core pillars of our mission.
With 50 local chapters across 36 states + Washington DC, the Chamber of Mothers is a powerful force for advocacy. Together, we’ve held 50+ bipartisan meetings on Capitol Hill and connected with policymakers to push forward solutions that support mothers and families at the federal level, and hosted close to 500 local chapter meetings and events to drive progress at the state and local levels.
Expect a welcoming, inspiring environment where you’ll gain tools, build community and action plans, and leave empowered to make an impact in your community. Whether you’re new to advocacy or ready to take your efforts further, your voice matters. Together, we will reshape the future for families everywhere. The Mothers will save us all.
