Come together, celebrate life and remember those we have lost. There will be performances, food, fashion, a raffle and stalls from small business owners. 1 in 4 of us will experience some kind of mental health problem in our life time. But no one should experience it alone.
At the end of last year a close friend of mine heartbreakingly lost his battle with depression. Just a few weeks ago, another friend also lost his battle.
40% of men admitted they never talk about their mental health with an astounding 64% admitting they wouldn’t seek help if they were struggling mentally.
Mind charity provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.
CALM- campaigning against living miserably is a charity taking a stand against suicide. 125 lives are lost each week to suicide. And 75% of all U.K. suicides are male. CALM run life saving services and being people together so they receive the help they need, aiming to prevent suicides.
In order to support these two incredible charities, I am hosting the inaugural Mind ball.
