About this Event

The Trolley Barn was completed and opened in 1889. One of the few remaining structures from the era when trolleys were a significant form of transportation in Atlanta, the Trolley Barn is an outstanding example of rustic Victorian commercial architecture with its turret, clerestory window, and trussed arches. Today the Trolley Barn is a well-loved event space, hosting a range of affairs, including weddings, parties, corporate, non profit and neighborhood gatherings. Docents will provide an in-depth history of the Trolley Barn and its preservation as well as commentary to accompany the professionally illustrated history of public transit in Atlanta.

This self guided tour takes about 20 minutes and is appropriate for all ages. On display will be Atlanta’s First Streetcars exhibit, a student project from the Kennesaw State University Public History Program.
