Born enslaved in Georgia, Alonzo Herndon rose to become Georgia's first African American millionaire. This tour highlights the home’s remarkable architecture, original furnishings, and the family’s legacy of entrepreneurship, education, and civic leadership. Guests will also learn about the Atlanta Life Insurance Company as a modern economic infrastructure that strengthened and sustained the Civil Rights Movement.
