PCCP welcomes Visit Philadelphia President and CEO Angela Val, who will discuss how the city promotes itself and attracts visitors.
About this Event

On Thursday, Feb. 20, 2025, PCCP dives deep into how Philadelphia attracts visitors, improves their experience, and spreads its allure to the rest of the world with Angela Val, President and CEO of Visit Philadelphia.

From big events like Philadelphia 250, to weekend getaways for families, Angela will talk about strategy and tactics, and why it all matters. She is a recognized trailblazer in destination tourism and hospitality, with more than two decades of experience and deep commmitment to bringing vibrancy to the city's business and cultural communities.

Angela has led Visit Philadelphia since June 2022. She began her career at the organization in 1998, working her way up from executive assistant to chief external affairs officer, before leaving to serve as deputy executive director of the Philadelphia 2016 Host Committee for the DNC. She later became chief administration officer at the Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau (PHLCVB), and then chief operations officer at the marketing agency Tempest. In 2021, she served as executive director of "Ready. Set. Philly!", a yearlong collaboration with the City of Philadelphia and the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce to reopen and reinvigorate the city’s economy following the COVID-19 pandemic.

During her first tour at Visit Philadelphia, Angela led some of the organization's most successful campaigns, including With Art Philadelphia, Philly 360, Philadelphia Neighborhoods and the Visit Philly Overnight Hotel Package. Her latest efforts now include bolstering Philadelphia 250, the celebration in 2026 of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

Visit Philadelphia is the city's official leisure & tourism marketing agency, with a $16 million budget funded mostly by hotel taxes. It operates the website visitphilly.com (7.5 million users in 2023), and produces advertising, social media, podcasts, events and attraction promotion, hotel packages, product development and even playing up Philly’s starring role in pop culture.
