as hot it is now in the midst Summer it may see like Fall is far away...but it isn't! For instance Philly Gumbo will be playing at World Cafe Live on Friday September 13th--and that is only two months away! After playing such a huge, appreciative crowd at Pastorius Park last week, we're really looking forward to returning to our "second home", World Cafe Live, where we played every year since it started and it ALWAYS is a party. This time it will be just us playing two sets, no opening act, starting at 8:30PM sharp. We strongly urge you to make reservations as soon as possible, as recent shows there for us have been sell-outs. Even more important is this: besides buying a ticket, in order to be guaranteed a seat you must separately reserve a table and that is important to do early because sometimes people coming just for dinner before a downstairs show reserve tables. Tickets are $18 in advance and $22 at the door, so early birds save! World Cafe Live has revamped their menu so there are some new tasty items to make it worth having dinner there. Doors will open 6:30PM and if you come early there is often parking available on Walnut Street; otherwise there is reasonable paid parking on 30th Street between Chestnut and Walnut, just around the corner from World Cafe. Looking forward to this one and hope to see you there for a night of funk and soul, blues and reggae and New Orleans faves...we might even play a Fela tune!
