Philly AIDS Thrift presents a free, family-friendly festivity! Philly AIDS Thrift 20th Year Anniversary Block Party will take place at the 700 block of S. 5th Street on Saturday, September 13th, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm. (Right in front of the Store!)
The fun-filled day will feature:
*DJ Robert Drake from WXPN is spinning the hits throughout the day!
*Our 6th annual Pie-Eating Contest, emceed by CBS 3's news anchor, Jim Donovan. MANNA generously provides the pies in correlation to their annual fundraiser, Pie In The Sky!
*A Celebrity Dunk Tank, which features Philly locals who make a splash in the community. This year, we have,
---Stef Jolles - Owner of Philly's Premier Punk Rock N Roll Shop,
---Tony Trov – Co-founder of South Fellini, the cheeky, Philly-centric apparel brand and Passyunk Avenue boutique. Additionally, he is a filmmaker and comic book
creator with deep roots in South Philly.
--- Joe Cox – Philly bike messenger and founder of the PMA (Positive Mental Attitude) Bike Ride, which has handed out thousands of slices of pizza to hungry neighbors since 2016.
---Tyrell Brown – Community organizer and Founder of Philly Pride 365, the group that re‑imagined Philadelphia’s Pride celebrations. They were also the former executive director of the social‑justice nonprofit GALAEI
Our fabulous performers include:
--- Tony & The Kiki – a rhinestone-studded, glam-rock troupe, blending hair‑metal swagger, riot “grrrl” attitude, and bilingual flair into a high-kick, high-camp spectacle while celebrating queerness and freedom of expression.
--- Reverend MacKenzie Moltov - the sword‑swallowing, fire‑breathing “clownbabe” and the founding member of Philadelphia’s Squidling Brothers Circus Sideshow, a touring stunt collective of freaks and circus performers. Expect danger, glitter, and rubber chickens.
--- Marcus G – a Philadelphia-born vocalist known for soulful melodies, big-stage energy, and queer pride. His journey from a young dreamer in Center City, Philadelphia to a celebrated performer is nothing short of inspiring.
*There will be thirst-quenching craft Brews from Love City Brewing Company
