The concert features a selection of beloved masterpieces, including Mendelssohn’s vibrant Fourth Symphony, the ‘Italian’, which captures the essence of 19th-century Italy’s landscapes and culture, and highlights from Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake Suite, showcasing some of the ballet’s most iconic and enchanting melodies.
Acclaimed cellist Wen-Sinn Yang joins the orchestra to present Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations, a lively and elegant homage to the 18th century, brimming with the spirit of Mozart’s influence.

This is a change to the previously advertised concert. Due to governmental budget cuts in Argentina and the subsequent withdrawal of the funding for the tour, the Buenos Aires Symphony Orchestra of Colón Opera has had to cancel its UK tour. As a result, its Manchester concert has been cancelled. We are delighted that the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra from Manila has agreed to take over the tour and perform instead. If you had tickets for the Buenos Aires Symphony Orchestra concert, you will have received an email with advice as to what to do next. If you have any queries, please email [email protected] or call the Box Office on 0161 907 9000.
