About this Event

The Federation has been the “voice” of the Greek-American community since 1949, communicating and interacting with the representatives of the Hellenic (Greek) Republic, Republic of Cyprus, government officials of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, City of Philadelphia, other local governments, and also with our Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America and Greek Orthodox Metropolis of New Jersey.

The Federation is also the sponsor of the Greek Independence Parade and Celebration, with thousands of Greek-Americans and Philhellenes proudly parading down Benjamin Franklin Parkway each year. Next year’s parade shall be held on April 6, 2025 and we are looking forward to another year of robust partnerships and cultural embrace from proud members of our community..

As a non-profit 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization that strives to bring local Greek Americans creatively, we attempt to reduce the cost of participation as much as possible. Because of these efforts, our parades are made possible through the generous support of the larger Philadelphia community, providing us with financial resources, gifts-in-kind, and their time.

It is our mission to serve as the central hub for Hellenic-American associations, promote Philhellenism and Greek cultural awareness, foster mutual understanding between Greek-Americans and other ethnic groups, organize and support events that celebrate Greek heritage, which is the foundation of our American democracy, and we kindly ask for your support in these endeavors.
