👩🏫 Speaker:
Becky Bergman, a senior lecturer at the Department of Communication and Learning in Science, specializes in intercultural communication and diversity. As a PhD candidate at Chalmers, her research focuses on intercultural communication, group work, and internationalization at home.
📝 Short Description:
Research communities and researchers at Chalmers are diverse in
many ways: nationality, gender, discipline to name a few. This
diversity is reflected in one of the five core values that Chalmers
strives towards and is a key element in recruitment amongst
companies. But while diversity is a key factor in creativity,
problem solving and intercultural competence, there are also
risks of misunderstanding, frustration and alienation. This
interactive talk reports on current research in the field and uses
activities and examples tried, tested and researched upon at
Chalmers to explore how to maximize success in the international
research environment.
