A Kodály Központ legfontosabb társadalmi eseménye a PFZ Újévi hangversenye. A minden év január 2-án megrendezésre kerülő koncert fellépői és műsora sok meglepetést tartogat, egy azonban biztos: a Bogányi Tibor által dirigált este egyik fénypontja a „pécsi taps”, amikor is a közönség több szólamban tapsol a bécsi újévi koncerteken bevezetett hagyomány szerint a Radeczky-induló ismerős ritmusára. Sok éve már, hogy az advent idején szavazhat a közönség a számára legkedvesebb férfi és női muzsikusra, akiket az Újévi koncertet követő állófogadáson köszöntenek fel a zenekar vezetői és a díj támogatói. 2026 újdonsága, hogy az állófogadás nyílt körűvé válik: a Teleky Catering exkluzív svédasztalos fogadására közönségünk jegyet válthat, és a koncerten fellépő muzsikusok és szólisták társaságát élvezve zárhatja az elegáns estét.

The most important social event of the Kodály Center is the PFZ New Year's Concert. The performers and program of the concert, held every year on January 2, hold many surprises, but one thing is certain: one of the highlights of the evening conducted by Tibor Bogányi is the "Pécs applause," when the audience applauds in several rounds to the familiar rhythm of the Radetzky March, following the tradition introduced at the Vienna New Year's concerts. For many years now, during Advent, the audience has been able to vote for their favorite male and female musicians, who are then honored by the orchestra's leaders and the award's sponsors at a reception following the New Year's concert. New for 2026 is that the reception will be open to the public: our audience can purchase tickets for Teleky Catering's exclusive buffet reception and enjoy the company of the musicians and soloists performing at the concert to round off an elegant evening.
