Melissa McCue McGrath grew up in a Maine family that “acquired” Iditarod-trained sled dogs. As an adult, with degrees in psychology, learning theory and behavior, Melissa uses that education to train dogs. An article she read in 2023 prompted her to join a cohort of volunteers created to research whether pet dogs could be trained to identify the invasive spotted lanternfly. Melissa will recount her experiences as well as bring dogs to give a live presentation of their research techniques.
