I can say from personal experience that painting your own pet or a pet for someone else can be a very rewarding taskš¾ With Christmas being around the corner, this is a perfect opportunity to create a very sentimental piece of artwork! This workshop will be broken up into 2 separate classes that will be 1 week apart. That way there is plenty of time to cover the drawing perspective portion, painting technique on creating animal fur/hair, and creating a custom background which will compliment your pet. Each student will bring their own picture reference to work from (digital or paper copy). Be sure to select a good photo that displays the color or the fur accurately and has a clear view of the face and chest area of the pet. Please message me if you need help selecting a photo to work from, not all pictures make good portraits! You may bring multiple photos and choose one during class as well. A light lunch and tea will be served during each class. schedule:
Class #1 (December 11th 12:30-3:00pm)
* We will cover charcoal drawing basics, portrait background, and what is the best angle of the face for creating a good portrait.
Class #2 (December 18th 12:30-3:00pm)
* How to paint fur, eyes, teeth, shadows and highlights. Adding a name, collar, or other customized finishing touches to your portrait.
cost: $65 per person (due on the first class)
