The ECSI Pet First Aid & Disaster Response course is designed to help pet owners provide temporary, urgent care to pets until they can reach a veterinary or emergency clinic. The class will teach owners to care for their animals before, during, and after an emergency.The Pet First Aid & Disaster Response Guide includes coverage of:
*Injury prevention and disaster preparation.
*Personal safety precautions to help pet owners identify and minimize risks.
*A wide array of pet emergencies including bleeding and bite wounds, cardiac arrest, choking, burns, poisoning, trauma, and more.
We will also discuss creating and maintaining a pet First Aid kit, as well as a disaster preparedness/evacuation kit.
The class cost is $100. Attendees will receive a comprehensive pet first aid booklet and a small starter First Aid kit that they can later customize for their pet(s). Lots of hands on skills will be practiced, including in lifesaving Pet CPR. Taught by Hound's Tooth Instructor Kat Carter
This class lasts 4 to 5 hours, snacks will be provided. We will break for a 30 min lunch break at 12. Please feel free to bring your lunch, or run out during the break to grab a bite to eat. Ages 14 and up.
You MUST prepay and confirm your spot in this class, since we have to order enough materials and kits for all attendees.
