Following the U.S. EPA’s update to pesticide applicator certification rules, the North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (NCDA&CS) has released a mandatory 1-hour training video titled: “NCDA&CS Required Pesticide Certification & Training Standards Update” This training is required to maintain your certification and serves as an alternative to retesting.
Who must complete this training?
- Private or commercial applicators who obtained their certification (passed the Core Exam) prior to July 1, 2025
What is required?
- To remain compliant, you must: View the 1-hour video Submit the online verification form after viewing
Deadlines for completion
- This training must be completed by your normal recertification deadline in the year your certification expires. Commercial Applicators: June 30 Private Applicators: September 30
If your certification expires in 2026, it is critical that you complete the video and verification form by these dates. Failure to do so will require retesting, even if all recertification credits have been earned.
The training is available to be completed online as well as having a in-person viewing of this mandatory training at the Cabarrus County Cooperative Extension Office (715 Cabarrus Ave W Concord NC 28027) on April 28th at 10am. This in person training will also count for 1 hour X credit.
