XRWA's Contemplative Rebels invite you to join us in silence and stillness to bear witness to the climate and ecological emergency. We will hold an hour-long period of contemplative sitting at Forrest Place (near the cactus). You are welcome to join us to meditate, pray, reflect or just be.We will gather in solidarity with the Earth and all beings impacted by the climate crisis.
A few of us will also do Outreach and chat to the public about XR.
Bring along a cushion, stool or chair to sit on. You may also wish to bring a blanket or mat for your knees. Please bring along a spare cushion or chair if you are able to, to offer to others who might want to join us. Feel free to join us for all or part of the action.
We will hold two rounds of sitting meditation, separated by a short walking meditation.
Also feel free to bring an offering of some kind to sit with: A placard, an artwork, some flowers, a rock, or any other object you feel is appropriate.
Meet at the centre of Yagan Square at 7.45 am. We will sit together between 8 am and 9 am.
We acknowledge that we sit on the land of the Whadjuk Nyungar people. We pay respect to the Traditional Custodians and to Elders past, present and future. Sovereignty was never ceded.
