About this Event

In the wake of the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election, both the United States and the Republic of Korea anticipate significant shifts in the political landscape. While both nations remain committed to upholding the principles, policies, and spirit established at Camp David, it is important to consider the evolving perspectives on their bilateral relationship, as well as the trajectory of trilateral alliances. Drawing on his extensive experience as a former Minister of Foreign Affairs and long-serving member of the National Assembly of Korea, former Minister Park Jin will share his insights on the future of the U.S.-ROK alliance and the impact of the election on bilateral relations and exchanges.

Prof. James Foster, Oliver T. Carr Professor of International Affairs and Professor of Economics, will provide welcome remarks. Prof. Nicholas Vonortas, Vice Dean of the Elliott School and Director of the Institute for International Science and Technology Policy, will introduce Dr. Park Jin. Prof. Celeste Arringon, Director of the Institute for Korean Studies and the Korea Foundation Associate Professor of Political Science and International Affairs at GWU will moderate the Q&A.

This hybrid event will take place on Friday, November 15th, 2024 11:00AM-12:30PM EST at the Elliott School of International Affairs Lindner Family Commons and via Zoom.
