About this Event
Dear friends of FPCI,
FPCI will host Prof. Marcus Mietzner, Professor of Political and Social Change at the Australian National University, for a discussion on his latest book, Ruling Indonesia Jokowi's Presidency in an Age of Democratic Crisis and Great Power Competition. The event will be moderated by Dr. Dino Patti Djalal, Founder and Chairman of FPCI, followed by a Q&A session.
In this book discussion and conversation, Prof. Mietzner analyses Jokowi’s domestic record in the context of his attempts to position Indonesia more favourably in the international competition for power and resources and provides valuable insights into how the great power rivalry of the 21st century and the global recession of democracy are playing out in central arenas of the Global South.
