Personal Safety Workshop – Delivered by Mind Body Spirit Martial Arts
A three‑hour personal safety session, exclusively for girls aged 10+ who have attended our workshops, their mums or female guardians, and women who have taken part in our programmes.
Funded by the Derbyshire Police & Crime Commissioner’s Safer & Stronger Together Fund, this session includes both basic and advanced knowledge and techniques. These sessions will become regular support activities in our postworkshop calendar.
The workshop is delivered by Mind Body Spirit Martial Arts, established in 2001 and based in Chesterfield. Their approach blends practical skills with calm, grounded awareness, creating a safe and supportive learning environment for all.
What the session will include
- The Law of Reasonable Force
- Situational Awareness
- Verbal Diffusion Skills
- Setting Verbal, Physical & Psychological Boundaries
- Use of Natural Body Movements
- Practical self‑defence techniques
- Identifying vulnerable target areas
This session is designed to help participants feel more confident, aware, and prepared in everyday life.
What to bring
- No equipment needed.
- Wear loose, comfortable clothing suitable for movement.
- Water ( We will supply light refreshments juice, tea and coffee. )
