We are pleased to present Caleb Weintraub: Both Sides of the Mirror in the Studio at Perry Lawson Fine Art. Weintraub’s work explores the tension between stability and disquiet, treating the domestic space as both a source of comfort and the tension that unsettles it. Within these layered environments, observation becomes both subject and object; watching and being watched coexist as inseparable conditions.
Blending figural and landscape sensibilities into imagined spaces, Weintraub situates his imagery between memory and myth. Each element in his heavily impastoed, textured paintings carries symbolic weight: birds suggest displacement, trees offer refuge, and fire embodies both warmth and danger, comfort and forewarning.
