A 3-week intensive performing arts experience for 7-12 year olds with a final performance! Please be sure to read all details.
About this Event

Summer is on the way! Bring your children ages 7-12 to have an intentional performing arts experience with a veteran instructor at BloomBars. Watch with joy as their hard work pays off in their final performance! Don't miss this exciting opportunity to challenge your child creatively through drama, dance and voice instruction!

Please register your child for ONE of the two available sessions.

Session 1: June 24th - July 12th (NO CAMP on July 4th)

Session 2: July 15th - August 2nd



The Breakdown

Week 1: Fundamentals and Role Assignments

Week 2: Choreography, Lyrics and Lines

Week 3: Rehearse, Rehearse, Rehearse... Showtime!

Final performances will be open to the public and held on the evening of the last day of camp or the Saturday morning that follows. (You will be notified in advance to make any necessary arrangements!)

Camp will be from 9 AM to 3 PM daily. If parents are unable to arrive by 3 PM, no worries! We will be offering aftercare from 3 PM to 6 PM each day (for an additional fee).

Before the start of camp, all parents will receive the the daily schedule via email.

You are required to send your child(ren) with lunch, snack and a water bottle each day!

About the Lead Teacher

Ms. Hermione Rhones is a native Washingtonian with 25+ years of experience as a teaching and performing artist. She currently teaches performing arts and yoga at several schools and community spaces. From a young age, she has studied various forms of movement including: ballet, tap, various modern dance techniques, jazz, and West African dance. Ms. Hermione has previously performed with a number of locally based professional dance companies and is currently a member of Clay Co., a dance company based in Fairfax, VA. She is an advocate of healing through artisty. She leads the BloomBars Writer's Group weekly and teaches yoga/meditation at several other local venues. Ms. Hermione’s solo works have combined her love of spoken word artistry with her passion for movement. In 2013, she published a collection of poetry entitled Naked. She also loves to upcycle garments and create original crochet accessories, occasionally selling her creations under the alias Accents by H. Ms. Hermione feels compelled to live and love artistically every day and strives to be a source of upliftment in her family, community and in the world at large.
