🌟 Note: This is a 7 week progressive series with limited space. Entry is only open for Week 1 or 2, then the container closes 🌟

This workshop is designed for performers who want to sharpen their improvisation skills for comedy performances.
Through fast-paced exercises, scene work, and performance techniques, you’ll learn how to think quickly, build strong characters, heighten comedic situations, and confidently find the comedic timing in the moment.
Students will focus on key improv tools such as: listening, agreement (“Yes, and…”), commitment, timing, and game of the scene, while also learning how to support scene partners and build memorable moments that connect with an audience. Each class includes guided practice, feedback, and plenty of opportunities to perform.
Whether you’re new to improv or looking to strengthen your stage presence, this workshop will help you develop the skills and confidence to create bold and funny scenes, right on the spot.
If you love comedy, want to perform, and are ready to take the stage without a script, this is for you!

Facilitated by Julie LeBlanc
Julie is an actor, director and producer. She has been performing since her first production in 1983, continuing on to receive awards for both acting and directing. Julie attended University of Calgary where she studied theatre/psychology while training with the prestigious improv facilitators at Loose Moose Theatre. Upon her return to Peterborough, Julie worked in the Mental Health field for over 23 years but found time to create P.I.G – Peterborough Improv Group in 1996, enjoying over 12 successful years entertaining audiences in the Peterborough area. Most recently, Julie has moved to Collingwood to marry the man of her dreams, and her love for this community is plain to see.
In May 2013 Julie founded the C.I.A. — Collingwood Improv Artists, providing comedy entertainment to the Georgian Bay Area. Humour plays a large part in Julie’s outlook on both life and theatre as she maintains the motto “You’re not in trouble if it’s funny”. Julie was the host of Georgian Bay Life on RogersTV Collingwood until the show’s conclusion in 2020. Currently Julie is teaching drama and improv unless she is on tour with Shipyard Kitchen Party Productions! SKP has enjoyed touring Ontario performing award winning shows such as Tom Thomson’s Wake (Winnifred Trainor role) and 100 Years From Now (role of Margaret McIntyre). Julie’s favourite current project is coaching and managing the young comedy duo Sunny Sidekicks.
