About this Event
This workshop will provide you with insights into perfectionism and imposter syndrome as well advice and exercises that will help you get a better understanding of your individual situation and of how best to deal with it.
This is what you’ll learn:
✓ Symptoms of imposter syndrome and perfectionism and the problems they can cause us
✓ How to start changing how you think and feel about imposter syndrome and perfectionism
✓ Tools you can use when you your imposter syndrome or perfectionism is holding you back. This will enable you to establish new, more helpful patterns of behaviour and thinking in the long run.
This workshop is for translators and interpreters who:
✓ have a tendency to doubt their skills and competencies
✓ are reluctant to take on jobs or tasks outside their comfort zone
✓ would like to feel more confident about their work
✓ want to learn how to deal with imposter syndrome and perfectionism in a more constructive way.
Target audience:
This event is aimed primarily at freelance translators/interpreters, but other freelance linguists are welcome too.
Bettina Röhricht is a trained translator and coach. She has been working as a freelance translator for over 20 years and has been coaching other freelancers for over 10 years. In her translation work, Bettina specialises in politics and the environment. As a coach, she offers one-on-one coaching sessions, helping her clients deal with issues around self-doubt, negative patterns of thinking, overwhelm and self-compassion.
