About this Event
How to pick a pepper...?
NEW! Throughout the farm to table movement in Texas, peppers play a large part in enhancing the flavor of healthy food and provide the base of many southwestern dishes. From 'Cubanelle' to 'Aji Charapita', differences in heat, color, shape, size, and flavor compounds abound. This is because they are relatively easy to grow and adapted to the hot climate we endure. Join Dallas County Extension Agent Matt Orwat, and learn that with proper techniques, pepper plants can survive the summer and be productive until first frost in November. In this class we will explore the different types of peppers, cultural techniques for optimal production and heat shielding methods. Come one and come all to learn about this versatile fruit we call a vegetable! FREE.
