About this Event
The weather is changing faster than most of us realise!
Come to a local screening of the People's Emergency Briefing in Reading, a 45-minute documentary film bringing together nine of the UK's leading scientists and experts. It’s the clearest, plainest explanation of how our weather, food, health and the places we love, are changing.
The film is introduced by Chris Packham with Deborah Meaden and others. Here’s your chance to watch it in the Council Chamber with your local councillors, all as members of the Reading community.
People who've seen it tend to report various feelings afterwards, one of which is relief. Relief that it has finally been laid out in a way that makes sense, and relief that there's plenty we can actually do about it.
“What stood out most was the shared tone: frank, non partisan, and rooted in public service. The speakers painted a picture of a country unprepared, but not incapable.”

What to expect
After the screening there’ll be friendly discussions about what it means for us and our community, and what urgent actions we can take. No prior knowledge or expertise needed. Everyone is welcome.
Tickets
We want everyone to be able to come, so tickets are free, with an optional Pay What You Can donation (cash or card) to help cover costs.
