On Wednesday mornings, the Buxton Room at the Indianola Activity Center transforms into an indoor playground for small children. The playground is offered by Indianola Parks & Recreation from mid-October through early March when the weather at outdoor playgrounds can be too cold for little ones. It is free for all to enjoy through the sponsorship of People’s Bank.Children aged one through Pre-K can burn off energy in the bounce house, on the slide and on riding toys, playing with blocks, balls, or working in the play kitchen. Special guests from Warren County Conservation, Warren County Health and Indianola Preschool will visit the playground throughout the season as well.
The playground will be closed on November 27, December 25 and January 1. It will also be closed on days when Indianola schools are cancelled due to inclement weather. To sign up for text alerts such as reminders, cancellations, or special guests, visit https://tinyurl.com/IPRTexts and select Youth - Indoor Play Date.
Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult throughout the morning.
