Join us for a special screening of People of Steel, a new documentary about the heroic defense of Mariupol, followed by a conversation with director Serhiy Fomenko.Mariupol, a strategic port city in southeastern Ukraine, became the site of one of the most brutal battles of Russia's war against Ukraine. The Mariupol garrison, including the special unit of “Azov”, soldiers of the National Guard of Ukraine, marine brigades, board guards, police officers, volunteers from the Territorial Defense and paramedics, defended the city with extraordinary resilience. Through interviews and battle footage, filmmaker Serhiy Fomenko tells their story.
This program is co-presented with the Embassy of Ukraine in the USA, Razom for Ukraine, and Ukrainian Congress Committee of America, and “Watch Ukrainian!” Association.
