Communication, Posing and Angles

1. Understanding how to pose individuals and groups for the best, most flattering photos.
2. Understanding how to communicate what you need with individuals and groups.
3. Knowing what angle to stand at as a photographer (particularly high/low) to create a certain effect.
Backgrounds, Depth of Field and Lens Selection

1. Understanding what background to use and how it will affect your photograph.
2. Knowledge of the best f.stop to use to create the depth of field you want - especially important for
groups and will change depending on the background you choose.
3. Understanding of what different lenses can do to create different photographs.
Lighting

1. What the difference is between natural and artificial light.
2. How to use direction of light to change the way a subject looks.
3. The most flattering lighting situations for shooting people.
4. How to use reflectors to balance out light.
