The Ottawa Chapter of PEO will be hosting a dinner meeting to welcome newly licensed members to the profession. Please come out to welcome them, and hear a presentation from our guest speaker!

Our Special Guest Speaker: Dan Carson, M.Eng., P.Eng. Dan joined WSP and legacy Halsall in 1978. He graduated from Carleton University and has more than 47 years of experience in structural design and the construction of new buildings, as well as the investigation and restoration of existing structures. Dan is currently the Lead Structural Engineer on the Centre Block rehabilitation project and has been involved since the first day of the project. He has a particular interest in seismic design and has served as a member of the National Building Code of Canada Standing Committee for Earthquake Design for the past 20 years. In 2010, Dan volunteered as part of a pro bono joint venture of Canadian consulting engineers that contributed to the design and construction of eight new schools in Haiti to replace those destroyed by the earthquake. The project received numerous awards. Throughout his career in Ottawa, Dan has contributed to many notable projects, including the renewal of the Canadian Museum of Nature, the restoration of the National War Memorial, and numerous projects on Parliament Hill.
