The Canam Mississauga facility fabricates open-web steel joists, joist-girders, and manufactures corrugated roof and floor metal deck
Steel joists are custom-made structural components used to support building floors or roofs. Using steel joist and steel deck systems is a very viable solution, allowing for significant savings due to the efficiency of high-strength steel, the speed and ease of construction, and the increased span size.
Participants are required to bring Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during plant tour as follows:
- Hard Hat
- Safety Glasses
- High – Visibility Vest
- Hearing Protection (Ear plugs)
- CSA approved Steel-Toed Boots
Note: Long Pants (no shorts) and shirts with long sleeves are required attire. Canam and PEO Brampton Chapter will not provide PPE equipment for plant tour.
