Get Ready for the Pentecost International Fair!ONE WORSHIP SERVICE ONLY MAY 24: 10 AM.
Pentecost is a special day of remembrance as the birthday of the Christian church with the story, in Acts 2, of early Christians from many lands, speaking many languages, gathering together and understanding one another as they share the good news of
Christ. It is also a day to celebrate our own gathering together as Jesus’ followers from many lands and cultures. That is why Ascension is having its second annual Pentecost International Fair at the church Sunday, May 24.
The fair is a celebration of the various countries from which members of the Ascension community originate. Countries from A to Z — Armenia to Zimbabwe, that is — are being represented this year. There will be booths with sweet and savory samples of countries’ foods, visual representations, and members on hand to share their experiences of their ancestral lands and families.
Being that Pentecost and Memorial Day Weekend are the same, there will also be a memorial area with a map showing where members’ loved ones served all around the world.
Come share in our Pentecost worship service at 10 AM,
with the fair following at 11:15
