Kick off the start of Penobscot River rafting season with us! From Memorial to Labor Day Weekend, we run trips on the Penobscot River every Friday - Monday.On the trip, you can expect 14 miles of stunning scenery, a steep granite gorge, endless forest, class 5 rapids, rafting over waterfalls, floating past Mount Katahdin, crossing under the Appalachian Trail, and lunch, too! We first rafted the West Branch of the Penobscot River in 1976, and we’ve been perfecting our trip since then. Join us for a classic top to bottom river run, and one of Maine’s most epic outdoor adventures.
Our base of operations for rafting the Penobscot is the Katahdin Adventure Base Camp, located at the Big Moose Inn in Millinocket, ME. Just outside of Baxter State Park and situated between Millinocket and Ambajejus Lakes, this area is a nature-lover's paradise.
