Joel Payeur will run the Pender Hill loop for 24 hours straight to raise funds for Winterfest! Come cheer him on and be a part of this wonderful community event.

Do you remember last year when local Joel decided to run his own version of a backyard ultra for a fundraiser... on the Pender Hill loop… for 24 hours straight... with no sleep?!
He finished 31 laps, 84km and over 6000m of elevation gain, but more importantly he raised funds for an important community initiative. It became a real community day with the many people that come out, hung around the BBQ, and cheered him on.
Well, he's decided to do it again... for WINTERFEST!!
Here's why Joel has chosen Winterfest for his 'backyard ultra marathon fundraiser' this year:
"This year the fundraiser is for the Pender Harbour Winter Festival. After being hands-on with the setup this past winter through the Pender Harbour Fire Hall, I saw firsthand how much work goes into making those events happen, and how badly they need proper storage for all the decorations and equipment.
Before Pender Harbour became my forever home, I was just another person showing up and enjoying all the amazing events this community puts on. What most people don’t see is the huge amount of work happening behind the scenes.
So let’s fix that. Let’s get them some storage containers.
Our goal this year is $5,000. That will cover the container itself, and anything above that will go toward insulation, painting, and site prep."

BBQ starting around noon (by donation). Food has been generously donated by IGA Madeira Park - come hungry and please donate!
