UHS Maternity Services in collaboration with Urodynamics and Physiotherapy services are holding a Pelvic Health study day, designed to equip attendees with the knowledge and skills to be a Pelvic Health Champion, advocating for improved care and patient experience wherever they may work.
When (2 dates available): Wednesday 24th July 2024 ~ 9am - 4pm
Wednesday 16th October 2024 ~ 9am – 4pm
Where: The Parentcraft Room, PAH
We are keen to welcome Pelvic Health Champions from across the maternity workforce, and from all levels. We have created an exciting day of learning, with teaching and practical sessions being delivered from our Specialist Physiotherapists Rosie & Virginia. We also have Dr Alison Torrens joining us to talk about perineal trauma and obstetric anal sphincter injury. We will be hosting a session on the wider implications, clinical risk and litigation issues related to pelvic health in obstetrics.
Attendance at this study day will be within your own time, unless otherwise agreed by your line manager.
FEEDBACK FROM PREVIOUS ATTENDEES:
"The pelvic health day has made me so much more confident in practice when talking to women..."
"Just wanted to say what a fabulous study day it was. From start to finish it held my attention and changed the way I deliver this really important subject to any female I come into contact with! Certainly, discussing pelvic floor exercises at booking and every appointment after is now routine."
"My management of birth has also changed to work towards improving the outcome for every woman from catheter to episiotomy and anything in between."
"I will continue to sing the praises of this essential study day."
