About this Event
This 1 day course is suitable for fitness professionals, exercise teachers, movement and body work therapists who want to gain an understanding and awareness of the female pelvic floor. It is also suitable for registered Health Professionals that do not plan to offer 'internal' pelvic floor assessments.
Our course has a strong focus on postnatal considerations and is suitable to pair up with our signature course 'Natal Foundations Level 1'. We highly recommend you attend 'Natal Foundations' first.
Why learn about pelvic floor ?
Pelvic floor dysfunction is common in the postpartum population. Women with pelvic floor dysfunction WILL be attending YOUR clinics, PT sessions and classes. Having a greater depth of pelvic floor knowledge and awareness, will allow YOU to support your clients to achieve their fitness goals.
Learning outcomes:
On completion of 'Pelvic Floor & More' you will be able to:
- Screening considerations for pelvic floor dysfunction within your subjective history taking.
- Review the role of the pelvic floor muscles in relation to normal bladder and bowel function
- Understand further the impact of childbirth related trauma to the pelvic floor short and long term.
- Empower yourself with evidence based education and advice relating to pelvic floor function.
- Understand 'when' and 'where' to signpost clients in relation to pelvic floor dysfunction
- Consider the pelvic floor within your fitness sessions including options to support clients with pelvic floor dysfunction.
