Formed in Green Bay in 2018, PEGASIS has built a reputation for creating music that lives somewhere between jazz, funk, R&B, pop, Latin, and global rhythms—what they call “discord in synergy,” a fearless blending of seemingly opposite musical elements into one electrifying sound. At the heart of the band are the powerful voices of Dominican sisters Rissel and Yaina Peguero Almonte, whose bilingual lyrics in English and Spanish explore personal experience, identity, and the world around them. They’re joined by an exceptional rhythm section: Matt Hillman’s expressive guitar work, Tony Pesavento’s melodic bass lines, and Jeremy Seelig’s dynamic drumming. Together they form a band that is as tight and virtuosic as it is playful and spontaneous.
