About this Event
Join the MIT List Visual Arts Center for a bike tour showcasing the MIT public art collection across campus.
View select public artworks by bike and consider how art and the architectural environment have enhanced MIT’s campus design. Pedal past renowned works of art both recently added and well-established by contemporary artists from Henry Moore and Alexander Calder to Julian Charriere and Sanford Biggers.
Attendees will be led by Sarah Schmitt, a List Center student guide who is a part of MIT Spokes, a student-run initiative to rethink STEAM education while biking cross-country over the span of 80 days.
The tour will begin at the BlueBikes station on the corner of Ames Street and Main Street, in front of Building 76 East Plaza. Bring your own bike and helmet; helmets are mandatory. Please arrive 15 minutes early, by 1:45 PM, if you plan on renting a BlueBike.
This program is weather dependent. Registered attendees will receive an email the day before the tour date if needed to cancel due to weather conditions.
