About this Event
PEC Adult Ally Training
Join us in person for the PEC Adult Ally Training! Delivered by the Students Commission of Canada through their national Hearing Unheard Moments project, in partnership with the Prince Edward County Community Safety and Wellbeing Plan. Open to all local service providers, municipal staff, and residents of the community. This workshop explores what it means to be an effective adult ally to youth by grounding participants in shared community guidelines, the SCC’s 4 Pillars™, and core principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Participants will examine safer spaces, accountability, and responsibilities, while learning how vulnerability, trust, and power show up in youth–adult relationships. Using interactive activities and practical frameworks, the workshop introduces youth engagement models, protective factors that help youth thrive, and the roles of autonomy, relatedness, and competence. Attendees will build concrete skills in active listening, reflection, and facilitation, clarify boundaries and roles between adults and youth, and explore the structural layers of youth programs to better support meaningful, affirming, and developmentally responsive engagement. Don't miss out on this fun and informative event!
