We’d like to invite you to our Peatland Justice Kickoff! Peatland Justice is a campaign by RE-PEAT aimed at investigating the peat trade in Europe, exploring just alternatives to peat, and ultimately achieving a phase-out of peat use in Dutch horticulture. Given your background, we believe you would bring a valuable perspective to the discussion, and we would love to have you join us at the event.
Did you know that the Netherlands is the world’s second-largest peat importer? And that peat mining in Estonia accounts for 10% of their national CO2 emissions? Discover the social and environmental impacts of this destructive supply chain and how we at RE-PEAT are working to push for climate justice regarding this issue.
On December 10th, from 18:00 to 20:00, we’ll be gathering RE-PEAT friends from all corners of our network at the P(e)atagonia Store in Amsterdam. Expect talks, crafts, posters, a peaty silent disco experience, peat-free soils, stickers, food, drinks, peatple, and more.
