Peace Dances with Valerie Rose & Friends. We gather together to practice Dances of Universal Peace (DUP) - singing, movement and chant practices. These spiritual practices, also known as Sufi Dancing, started in San Francisco in the 1960s by Samuel Lewis, an American mystic, and are now shared all over the world.These are participatory circle dances with simple folk-dance movements. Each dance uses a mantra or sacred phrase from one of the world's many spiritual traditions. The words, melody and movements are taught just before dancing them. We focus on being in the heart and interconnection. Singing & moving together creates an amazing vibration ripe for personal and collective healing.
