Scottish Highlands Retreat 30th March-3rd April 2026Join the PDDUK gang for a dreamy 5-day getaway to Scotland, taking in the best of the best from our personal experiences of travelling around the highlands.
To avoid the tourist traffic, we are going in late March and into April so the roads will be clear giving us a smoother drive and not clogged up with campers.
The tour starts in the Trossachs National Park and finishes on the northwest coast of the highlands, enjoy staying at spa resorts, cosy castles and x2 nights at a luxurious lodge hotel with bedroom views overlooking the sea.
Monday 30th March
Your adventure begins on Monday evening at a Spa Hotel local in the Trossachs National Park, relax for the day and in the evening, you will meet the attendees at the group welcome meal.
Tuesday 31st March
Starting the day with a drive over Dukes Pass, one of Richard Hammond's personal favourite roads in the UK, followed by a picturesque drive through the Glencoe Mountain Range.
Stopping off at the Ben Nevis Whisky Distillery for a private tour.
In the afternoon we are driving east to the Cairngorms where you are spending the night in a castle.
Wednesday 1st April
You will now drive in convoy through the Cairngorms, your guide taking you on some of the best driving roads including the old military road that takes you over the mountains.
Coffee and cake stops are planned throughout the day so you have time to get out, take photos, enjoy the drive and take in the scenery.
Lunch is pre booked at a lovely café overlooking a loch.
The afternoon consists of driving through central highlands towards Scourie, another coffee stop is booked for the group on the west coast at a secluded location looking out to sea.
You won’t be disappointed.
It’s now late afternoon and the traffic has died down; we will make our way down the coast to Kylesku Bridge along the best driving road in the country where you can open up the throttle.
After the drive of your life, you will arrive at a welcoming country lodge where you will stay for the next x2 nights.
In the evening you will dine with the group and sample the local dishes.
Thursday 2nd April
Today’s drive takes you out to the west coast along sublime driving routes with scenic snow-covered mountain tops along the way.
Stopping at Gairloch for lunch at a spectacular little hotel on the coast, the owner serves top class food and is a true car enthusiast so always welcomes the car groups.
On the afternoon drive we are stopping at Ullapool, the biggest town in the highlands, where you have time to explore and top up on souvenirs before heading back to the hotel for your final night.
Friday 3rd April
The tour has now come to an end, until next time.
