About this Event
Join Place Collective UK, Stride Treglown, and Caerphilly County Borough Council for an afternoon walking tour of Caerphilly town centre on Thursday 21st May.
Led by Urban Designers and Architects from Stride Treglown alongside lead officers from Caerphilly Council, the tour will explore the wider regeneration framework and the Caerphilly Town 2035 Placemaking Plan. Together, we’ll walk through key areas of the town centre, discussing current projects, future opportunities, and the bold and ambitious Placemaking Plan to transform Caerphilly, making it a better place to live, work and visit.
Our route begins at Caerphilly Interchange (recently approved for redevelopment), continuing along Cardiff Road, past the residential led Pentrebane Street scheme and towards the proposed Hotel and Leisure Quarter, before circling the iconic Caerphilly Castle. Along the way, we will highlight a range of completed, ongoing, and upcoming regeneration initiatives, including active travel upgrades and development opportunities within Dafydd Williams Park and the Caerphilly Leisure and Wellbeing Hub.
We will conclude the tour at Ffos, Caerphilly’s vibrant new market, where refreshments and further networking will be available. The proposed walking tour and key event details are set out below.
