Sweet Dreams Memorial Gardens will host its annual Pawprints & Butterflies Festival Saturday, June 27, 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., at its Woodstock headquarters. The event will celebrate the grand opening of the Memorial Gardens, a peaceful space dedicated to honoring beloved pets.
For more than a year, team members and volunteers have carefully designed and built the gardens as a heartfelt tribute to the bond between pets and the people who love them. The space includes waterfall-fed ponds, a looping nature trail, rock gardens and a brick remembrance walkway. Visitors will also find a pet collar remembrance wall and private seating areas designed for quiet reflection. An intimate amphitheater will be used to host future educational classes and workshops conducted by Sweet Dreams’ veterinary professionals.
“The gardens are a sanctuary where families can find peace, healing and connection,” says Dr. Amy Crowder, founder of Sweet Dreams. “It’s a place where love continues, even after loss.”
“We envision a community space where we also will offer continuing education for veterinary technicians, gardening classes and social activities,” adds Melissa Daywalt, project manager of the Memorial Gardens.
The family-friendly festival will offer activities for all ages, including children’s activities, food trucks, raffles, a vendor village and guided tours of the Memorial Gardens. The festival will culminate in a butterfly release ceremony, a meaningful tradition where participants honor the memory of their pets in a shared moment of reflection and remembrance.
