This quarter we will be reading “Immigrant on Earth: A Philosopher on the Road to Emmaus” by Peoria’s very own Dr. Octavian Gabor! Dr. Gabor’s book “explores the human condition through short stories, philosophical concepts, and encounters with figures like Dostoevsky and Plato. The book presents faith and reason as companions and examines the idea of being an “immigrant” in the souls of others, focusing on themes of responsibility, beauty, and healing. Dr. Gabor is a philosophy professor and dean at Methodist College, and is excited to promote his book “to connect with the philosophical ideas through experiences of ordinary people”. We hope you will join us for this unique opportunity to not only learn from one another but engage directly the author! This event is free & open to the public.
