About this Event
As part of this year’s Heritage Festival, veteran Chester street performer, Dave Southern, will be leading groups around the City on a ‘Storywalk’ recounting some of the fantastic performances that have been seen in Chester streets over the years.
Dave is remembered through the 90’s and 2000’s as the ‘Man on the ladder’ juggling fire on his 10 foot Unicycle, but for the last 12 years has been the talent behind ’The Drumming Puppet’ a regular favourite in the streets of Chester.
This Storywalk is an adaptation of his successful run at The Edinburgh Fringe, sharing stories about the long history of street performance at that Festival.
Come on the walk and find out more about the culture and history of Chester’s street performing community, how it works, how we organise ourselves and find out some of the trade secrets of gathering and holding an audience!
